Since 1933, our family has been preserving the authentic taste of traditional South Indian kitchens. What began as a humble provision store has grown into Hi Life Spices—bringing generations of handcrafted recipes to homes around the world.
A Legacy That Began in 1933
Hi Life Spices is more than a food brand—it’s a continuation of a family tradition that began nearly a century ago.
In 1933, our great-grandfather S.M. Ramaiyer established Sri Kamakshi Stores in the temple town of Kumbakonam. Built on trust, honesty, and quality, the store quickly became a familiar name in the community, serving families with carefully selected provisions and traditional ingredients.
Over the decades, while life took the next generation to Chennai, one thing never changed—the recipes that had been lovingly passed down through our family. Those authentic spice blends continued to be prepared at home, just as they always had, preserving the flavours that defined every family gathering and festive meal.
Today, Hi Life Spices proudly carries that legacy forward, sharing those same timeless flavours with kitchens across India and beyond.
